Art Hotel Tartini stands on Tartini Square, the marble heart of Piran. There are no long drives between ceremony, dinner and bed: everything happens under one roof, a few steps apart. Your guests wake up in the old town and are by the sea within minutes. We host one wedding at a time, so on your day the terrace, the team and all of our attention are yours.

Getting ready
Begin the day in the quiet of your suite while the square below fills with light. Our Presidential Suite and the Junior Suites with a private terrace are favourites with couples.

The ceremony on the rooftop
Climb to our upper rooftop terrace: open sky, the bell tower of St George’s and the sea beyond the roofs. The terrace can be yours for the whole day, for up to 70 guests.

Aperitivo with a view
Glasses are raised as the light over the Adriatic turns gold. Your photographer will find a new frame at every corner.

Dinner and celebration
Downstairs, our restaurant becomes your private dining room until 23:00, with quiet live music or a DJ by arrangement. We put the menu together with you.

Into the night
Step out onto Tartini Square under the lanterns, then simply go upstairs. No transfers, no taxis, no goodbyes in a car park.

Civil, church or symbolic
- Civil ceremony
- A legal civil wedding in Slovenia is conducted by the registrar of the Piran Administrative Unit (Upravna enota Piran), and they approve ceremonies on our terrace, so you can marry legally with the sea behind you. Contact them early with your preferred date.
- Church wedding
- A church ceremony is possible in the parish church of St George, a short walk uphill from the hotel. Please arrange it directly with the parish.
- Symbolic ceremony & vow renewal
- No paperwork, just your words, your celebrant and the view. Ideal for couples who marry legally at home.
- Elopements & small weddings
- Just the two of you, or a handful of friends? We love intimate weddings too.
Bring your dream team: you choose your photographer, florist, music and officiant, and we coordinate their arrival with our team.

Good to know
How many guests can you host?
Up to 70 guests. The ceremony takes place on our rooftop terrace, dinner and celebration in our restaurant downstairs.
Can we book the whole hotel?
Yes. You can reserve all 50 rooms for an exclusive celebration, so the house is filled only with your family and friends. Ask us about availability for your date.
Can we have a legal civil ceremony on your terrace?
Yes. Legal civil weddings are conducted by the registrar of the Piran Administrative Unit (Upravna enota Piran), which approves ceremonies on our terrace. Contact them early with your date.
What documents do foreign couples need?
Usually a valid passport, a birth certificate and proof that you are free to marry, with an apostille or certified translation where required. Requirements depend on your nationality, so please confirm them with Upravna enota Piran before you plan.
Can we marry in church?
Yes, in the parish church of St George above the old town, arranged directly with the parish. The celebration then continues at the hotel.
How long does the celebration last?
The rooftop terrace can be yours for the whole day. Dinner and party in our restaurant run until 23:00, with quiet live music or a DJ by arrangement.
What if it rains?
Our restaurant is plan B: if the weather turns, the ceremony moves indoors, just a few steps away.
Do you host other weddings or events on the same day?
No. We host one wedding at a time, so the terrace and our team are dedicated to you.
Can we bring our own photographer, florist and musicians?
Of course. You choose your vendors, and we coordinate their arrival and timing with our team.
How do guests reach Piran and where can they park?
Piran’s old town is car-free. Guests park in the Fornače garage at the entrance to town and walk about 10 minutes or take the local bus (€1). See our parking guide. Trieste and Ljubljana airports are both about 1.5 hours away by car.
Do you welcome same-sex couples?
Always. Since 2023, marriage in Slovenia is open to all couples.
